Fall Colors of Georgia

This past weekend the whole family visited Blairsville, GA and the surrounding area. The fall colors were stunning and the family time was precious! Most of the pictures are of Ben’s side of the family. He has 5 siblings and some of them have little kiddos themselves. My immediate family lives in Sevierville, Tennessee so we took a short drive over to visit them for lunch at The Old Mill. (my favorite comfort food restaurant, believe me if you are ever in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee it is a MUST! I love the pot roast dish they have there and the corn fritters are to die for! Also there is a handmade pottery shop across the street that I have a few beautiful mugs from!)  So there are a few pics mixed in of my side of the family as well! We don’t get up to see the fall leaves every year, and in FL there virtually is no color change, so this was a special treat!

We visited Blue Ridge, GA and had lunch at Christy Lee’s Courtyard Grille. There is also an awesome restaurant right next door called Harvest on Main.

Later in the afternoon we drove to Brasstown Bald to hike up to the lookout. It is a short, paved hike that offers stunning views!

Ben’s 90 yr old gramps leading the way! I Swear he’s not a day older than 60.

Afterwards we stopped at Pappy’s for ice cream that is only bearable in the fall if eaten by the fire outside. At least for this Florida girl.

The next day we went to the GA Mountain Fair. It is really nice to walk around and look at the homemade crafts, and eat some yummy treats like kettle corn. There is also a Bluegrass competition held in the auditorium.
